The Resource content is highly applicable under Basic of Mental Health Nursing Assessment across all Nursing Programs.

There is emerging and urgent need to create safe, stimulating learning environments for nursing students to 'practice' new skills, techniques and critical thinking as the access to good clinical mental health setting experiences is becoming increasingly difficult.

In recent years, there has been a marked decline in access for students to get an experience in Psychiatric setting while  caring for the patient . This resource helps to address these needs.

Two unique content modules and an Case scenario are designed to promote the application of knowledge and clinical reasoning related to establishing therapeutic nurse-client relationships, recognition of and assessment of Common Psychiatric Symptoms.

Intended Audience

This resource is intended for students as well as health care fraternity in Psychiatric Nursing. 

The learning modules can be incorporated into nursing courses or used for self-study. Practicing nurses can use these learning objects as a review or self-test to enhance their current practice or prepare to move into a mental health and/or home care practice setting.
